A word for the working saints regarding love, courtship, marriage, and family
This week's message (Morning revival week 7 of crystallization-study of the Psalms, volume two -- Praising Christ as the King) is a timely topic with important applications to love, courtship, marriage, and family.
On page 146 of the Holy Word for Morning Revival, first paragraph: Psalm 45 in its entirety is written about Christ, yet it is written from the aspect of human relationships. As a human being, you, of course, have yourself, but as a normal human being you also need a wife. Eventually, to be completed and perfected as a human being, you need children. Christ is not a bachelor; He is the King with the queen and all the children.... The riches and fullness of a man are his wife and family; likewise, the riches and fullness of Christ are in His church with all His children. For the single brothers, I have this to say: find a good wife, preferably from among the sisters, someone who can be your lifetime lover, companion, support, help, and encouragement. Brothers need to take the initiative, but not be hasty in choosing. Marriage is a long-term relationship, carefully and prayerfully planned. Marriage should not be a mere personal choice or preference. It is a corporate matter in the sense that it involves you, your spouse, your family, your spouse's family, your friends, your spouse's friends, and most of all, the church. One misstep can mean hurt, damage, emotional pain, psychological suffering, and even spiritual death. Please take time to consider carefully, with much prayer and fellowship, whom to pursue and when to pursue. Marriage is worth more than earthly wealth. It is as precious as life itself. You do not want to compromise on it, or sacrifice your entire future because of not handling it properly. Single sisters, exercise yourselves to be full of simplicity, purity, and modesty. This is the beauty, the virtues of Christ expressed through you. Love, obedience, and humility will never fail to attract the right brothers. May you be adorned with Christ as your beauty. Physical appearances are deceiving. A good heart with submission is what makes a good wife. A good sister brings honor to her husband. A sister may be more capable than the brother, but a good wife is one who keeps herself under subdued lighting, not in the spotlight or limelight. On page 153, last paragraph: Psalm 45:11a continues, "Thus the King will desire your beauty." The queen's beauty here signifies the virtues of Christ expressed through the church. The beauty of the church, her beauty in the presence of Christ, is Christ's virtue lived out of us. May we be faithful lovers of the Lord and may we be blessed in the church life through all our days. |
