Prophesying meeting
"Prophesying” is an indispensable gift and function in the matter of building up the church. In First Corinthians chapter fourteen, on the matter of building up the church, the apostle Paul strongly emphasizes that everyone should desire earnestly to “prophesy." According to the revelation in First Corinthians, when the church meets, there should be many prophecies with spiritual gifts and in languages understandable to man in order to supply the riches of Christ to build up the church. However, such wonderful picture of the church gathering is not common in the church history. Most of the time, the function to prophesy is fulfilled by a small group of people. Through the Lord’s mercy, the church in the Lord’s Recovery saw the vision concerning prophesying. By putting this vision into practice, the church can express the stature of the fullness of the Body of Christ so that all may learn and all may be encouraged. The church in Richmond is in the flow of the Lord’s recovery, and is practicing prophesying “one by one." Every Lord’s Day, after the Lord’s table meeting, all the saints will join the prophesying meeting. Based on the Bible and certain spiritual books, everyone can freely prophesy according to the enlightenment and revelations from their regular pursuing. Through the saints' prophesying, we aim to practice letting the Lord’s word flow as rivers of living water out of our innermost being. This will supply others and allow the church to be built up according to Ephesians 4:16. |
